Messier Object M1, Crab Nebula. Photo, Maps and Charts. Partly because of the Crab Nebula’s very bright neighbor, the Crab Nebula cannot be distinguished with the naked eye. However, because of it’s compact 6′ size, at magnitude 8.4, on a perfectly clear, dark night the Crab Nebula may be seen in binoculars.
